Original Funky Folk Art Black Cat Luna Moon Painting

Original Luna The Cat Painting By Schuyler Rain. Add some funky folk art to your home decor!! I painted my interpretation of Luna from sailor moon on a piece of 1/2" thick plywood that we salvaged from the neighbor's house remodel. Luna is a talking black cat that appears from the very beginning of Sailor Moon. I painted a background of lime green. I love working with lime green it brings a freshness and pop to paintings. Luna is a pure black with light pink ears and a gold crescent moon on her head, Her eyes are done in the manga / anime style and I added a lot of highlights so she has a sheen about her. The sides of the panel have been painted black to add a finished framed look. The painting measures 18 3/16" tall and 13 1/4" wide. I sealed it with a protective water based sealer, signed, numbered and dated it. The back has a keyhole slot hanger cut into it, so it's ready to hang flush against your wall.
